Princess Diana ‘didn’t want to be reminded’ of Charles & Camilla’s affair via Chanel logo

Princess Diana was married to Prince Charles, 72, for 15 years. Today, Paul Burrell has spoken out on their relationship and has shared why she did not like the Chanel logo.

Princess Diana spoke in the past about the relationship of Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.

Speaking on Lorraine, Paul claimed how this affected Princess Diana.

He claimed: “That affair actually ruled [Prince Charles’] life and Camilla’s presence was omnipresent.

“She’s always there and Diana had to battle with that from day one.”

Princess Diana’s style is often copied and her looks are considered iconic by many.

While she often wore pieces by designer brands, Paul claimed she had to alter items from Chanel.

He claimed this happened after the royal found a pair of Chanel cufflinks that had been gifted to Prince Charles by Camilla.

Paul suggested: “On the Royal Britannia on her honeymoon, Diana found the cufflinks with the intertwined Cs and had an almighty row with her husband and said ‘what is this?’.

“She didn’t want to be reminded of that affair that she had to live with.”

Princess Diana’s relationship with Prince Charles has been depicted on the new series of The Crown.

The couple first met when Prince Charles was dating her sister in 1977.

They soon began dating and the future King proposed in February 1981 and they married just months later.

The royal line of succession – who outranks who?

The line of succession to the British throne dictates the order in which each member of the Royal Family would ascend to the throne.

It is also seen as a ranking of importance with the head of the line, the Queen, taking the place of ruler.

Older children come before younger children. Traditionally boys came before girls, but this law was changed on 26 March 2015 before the birth of Prince William’s first child.

Incredibly, Catholics are still excluded from the line of succession, as are children born outside of wedlock.

The royals, who usually stick to a strict protocol when appearing in public, often arrive at events in ascending order of importance, with the most important royal arriving last.

Prince Charles, 71, is currently first-in-line to the British throne, followed by Prince William, 38, his oldest son.

Then comes Prince William’s children, George, seven, Charlotte, five, and Louis, two, and they are followed by Prince Harry, 36. Prince Harry is succeeded by his son Archie Harrison, born in May 2019.
